Choose the finish, not just the colour
Bring a cupboard-door sample, flooring sample and a photograph of your kitchen together before narrowing your shortlist. A warm white surface can look different beside a cool white door, and a small sample will not show the full sweep of a large pattern. Ask to see a larger section or an image of the complete slab.
Try looking at your shortlist in both daylight and evening lighting. For a strongly veined design, think about where the main preparation area and the island will sit in the pattern. Our guide to joints and pattern direction gives you the questions to ask before you order.
Plan for everyday use
For Caesarstone quartz, the manufacturer recommends mild detergent, rinsing and drying for routine cleaning. Use a chopping board and put hot cookware on a trivet. Certain textured finishes can show everyday marks more readily than polished versions. Follow the care instructions for the exact product you choose.
A useful way to shortlist a surface is to describe your routine: frequent cooking, baking, a busy breakfast bar, or a kitchen that doubles as a workspace. Ask us how your chosen finish behaves in that setting rather than relying on a broad promise of “maintenance-free”.
Specify the whole worktop
The material name alone does not define the finished result. Record the product, colour, thickness, edge profile, sink type and whether you want matching upstands. Include the island and any waterfall end in the same discussion so the quote describes the complete job.
If you are keeping the kitchen units, read about worktop replacement before deciding. Existing cabinet support and appliance positions need checking. Do not order a slab on the assumption that your current top can simply be exchanged.
Prepare for a Bromley quotation
Start with a postcode, rough plan and list of the pieces you need. Explain access from the unloading point to the kitchen, particularly stairs, narrow turns or a first-floor room. Your initial dimensions help scope the enquiry; final measurements are confirmed at templating.
Our cost guide explains what to compare in the written quotation. Brand availability, fitting arrangements and any warranty are confirmed in your quotation.
Product care references
Manufacturer guidance checked September 2026. These references do not imply a supply partnership; the selected product’s current instructions apply.
