Think in finished pieces
A vanity top, compact utility surface, shelf or small table top may be worth discussing with us. Give the finished dimensions and say which edges will be visible. For a bathroom surface, include the basin, tap and any wall junctions.
Do not assume an offcut advertised by area can produce your required shape. Ask us to check the usable dimensions, condition, thickness and space needed to cut and finish the piece. A material that almost fits may not be suitable once fabrication is considered.
Be flexible about the stone
Available offcuts depend on current stock and other projects. You may need to choose between the pieces available rather than order an exact colour. If matching an existing worktop is essential, explain that immediately and ask whether a credible match can be achieved.
View the actual piece where possible and agree which side is the finished face. Check its appearance at the scale of your project: a bold vein that works on a long kitchen run may have a very different effect on a small shelf.
Allow for fabrication and support
The raw piece is only part of the project. Ask for cutting, edge finishing, holes, cut-outs and delivery or collection to be priced explicitly. Do not assume offcuts are free or that a small top will be inexpensive once specialist work is included.
A stone table top needs a suitable base and fixing design. A shelf needs an appropriate support arrangement. Have the responsible professionals confirm the complete assembly rather than placing a heavy piece on an unverified support. This page is for planning a fabricated item, not DIY cutting advice.
What to put in the enquiry
Include a sketch, dimensions, intended use, colour flexibility and photographs of the base or location. Say whether you need templating, delivery and installation, or whether you are enquiring about a supplied piece only. Ask us to confirm what we can undertake.
For a larger kitchen surface, the material pages may be a better starting point. For a small project, use the quote checklist to keep the scope clear. This website does not advertise a live offcut stock list.
